The Hunger Games

Yes, it is as good as all your friends say it is. And, bonus, this juvenile fiction book doesn't have any vampires, so you don't have to feel ridiculous reading it.

In a post-apocalyptic society, children are forced to participate in the hunger games to earn honor and food for their families and neighbors. This book's premise is intriguing, and it is well written. It is disturbing to think about what kinds of burdens are placed on children's shoulders and what happens to the human spirit within extreme conditions.

This is a great book that is perfect for when you need an easy read.
