This is Brandon Sanderson's (of Mistborn and Well of Ascension fame) first book. The story is about a country about to go under and a strange society that lived within that country. That was a terrible description, but I can't really think of anything succint and illuminating.
So anyway, the story was good. It was a good concept, very original, and I liked the main characters alot. The writing was alright--it was pretty slow at the beginning, but it picked up. Not the best Sanderson book out there, but if you're looking for another fantasy book to read (Nicole, I know you are), then this is a decent one.
